BROKEN PIPE... We Mourn the Passing of Long Time Brother and Member,
David Wrubel
Please join me in raising bowls in memory and honor of our dear friend and brother, long, long time member, David “Dave” Wrubel, who passed away recently as reported by our dear brother, Mr. Vernon Vig. I received an email from Vernon informing me of Dave’s passing. Many of you new friends and members of the Club will not know Dave, however, we old timers will surely remember our dear brother. A high end pipe collector who was a fixture at early on NY Pipe Club meetings and who was a staple at the Chicago Pipe Shows. He was a good friend and member of the NYPC in earlier years. He had one of the finest pipe collections in the world.
We should find a way to remember him at NYPC, perhaps we dedicate our upcoming BBQ to Dave!
This is such sad news. Those of us who had the pleasure of sharing bowls together with Dave will remember the kind soul that he was. He will surely be missed.
On behalf of the entire NY Pipe Club, I extend our deepest condolences to Dave's family at this time of sorrow.
