Broken Pipe: Frank Burla
If you had been to a Chicago Pipe Show over the last many, many years then you surely would have known Mr. Burla. Frank was the main organizer of the Chicago Pipe Show and a constant, calming presence throughout those mega and hectic productions. He always struck me as a calm, cool and collect gentleman amidst the excitement and commotion of the show. He was always so very kind and courteous to me whenever I'd bump into him at the show to share a few words. On behalf of the entire NY Pipe Club, I extend our deepest condolences to Frank's family, I am so sad to have heard and to report this news. R.I.P., Frank and raised bowls for Mr. Burla today.
